Eight partners from various regions in Europe bring their considerable experience, expertise and enthusiasm together to implement the project.


Project Coordinator: ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability is an international association of local governments and national and regional local government organisations that have made a commitment to sustainable development.


Fundación Comercio para el Desarrollo (COPADE) (Spain) seeks to establish trade relations under the principles of Fair Trade and help to create a social structure that will enable disadvantaged groups to be agents of their own development.


Forest Stewardship Council – Italy (FSC-Italy) has 65 members in Italy, including members representing environmental, social and economic instances and interests. It is part of a worldwide network with over 880 members. More than 1,200 companies in Italy are FSC certified.



National Association of Local Authorities in Italy counts the majority of Italian cities among its members and works closely with them on environmental issues, including green public procurement.


Madrid City Council is a local government authority, which covers a population of more than 3.2 million citizens in Spain. Madrid is committed to sustainable development as demonstrated by, among other things, its inclusion of environmental and ethic criteria in public procurement since 2005. In 2011, Madrid was declared a Fairtrade Town in the International Campaign of Fairtrade Towns.


Miskolc City Council is a local government authority, which covers close to 180,000 citizens in Hungary. It is the third largest city in the country, and is famous for its attractive natural and historical attractions. The main economic areas of the city are trade, services, financial, scientific and educational function. The city went through a heavy industrial revolution in the last period which resulted in severe impacts on the environment.

The City Government of Rakvere is a local government authority, which covers almost 17,000 citizens in Estonia.



Alba Local Energy Agency (ALEA - Romania) helps support several municipalities in the Alba region. It provides capacity building and raises awareness about efficient energy use and the use of renewable energy sources, exchanges best practices and transfers skills.
